Students of the University “Privredna akademija”, Faculty of Technical Sciences, had the opportunity to visit the Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant today.

Future engineers had the opportunity to learn about the complex processes of electricity production from coal, which is directly related to their fields of study. The visit began with a welcome from experts from the Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant, who provided the students with an introductory presentation on the history of the plant, its technical characteristics, and its role in the national energy system.

After the introductory presentation, the students had the opportunity to tour key parts of the thermal power plant, including the combustion plant, steam boilers, and electricity generation turbines. Special attention was paid to occupational safety systems, where students were able to learn about the latest standards and practices applied to preserve the health and safety of workers in this complex industrial environment.

During the tour, students had the opportunity to communicate directly with engineers and technicians, asking questions and exchanging ideas about technical challenges and solutions applied in practice.

The visit to the Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant for students of the Mechanical Engineering and Occupational Safety study programs represented not only an opportunity for practical learning and acquiring specific skills, but also an experience in applying theoretical knowledge in a real industrial context. This interaction between educational institutions and industry is crucial for preparing future engineers for complex challenges in the fields of energy, technology, and occupational safety.
